A successful Open Day in 2026
Glorious weather and fascinating insights
Bright sunshine, packed audiences at the talks and plenty of fascinating conversations – our open day was once again well attended this year. Many visitors took the opportunity to go behind the scenes, pick up some specialist knowledge and gain an insight into our work.
Canopy care and sail trim
The event kicked off with a practical talk on canopy maintenance. From choosing the right products to identifying common problem areas, our experts provided practical advice for everyday life on board.
We then moved on to a clear live demonstration of sail trim. On a sailing yacht, our sailmaker demonstrated how to optimally adjust the headsail and mainsail, and which techniques and trimming devices make all the difference.
Batteries, solar power and proper energy management on board
When it came to energy management, things got technical – but by no means dry: from solar panels and energy sources to a comparison of lithium and AGM batteries, there were plenty of ‘aha’ moments and lots of questions from the visitors.
Let’s get the barbecue going and have lots of fun with the little ones
During a sunny lunch break on our terrace, visitors were treated to food from our barbecue station. The younger guests took the opportunity to make and decorate their own sailing boats.
Important information regarding typical wear parts on the rig
Our mast builder then pointed out common weak points in the rigging, explained when action is needed, and offered helpful tips on how to achieve the best possible rig trim.
An insight into exciting client projects and boatbuilding
In the afternoon, the doors to the boat-building hall and the workshop from Werftgenossen were opened. Here, visitors were treated to fascinating insights into current projects and detailed information on the causes of oar damage – an area one rarely gets to see so up close.
Practical tips for applying paint correctly
The event concluded with a presentation on biocide-free coatings by Hempel. It was explained in an easy-to-understand manner, presented in a practical way, and supplemented by numerous individual questions from the audience.
Exchange, a good atmosphere & a bit of luck
All the talks were well attended, the discussions lively and the participants eager to learn. People browsed our shop, sought advice and took home the right equipment straight away. And those who fancied a bit of luck could enter the raffle in the hope of winning useful prizes for their own boat.
A thoroughly enjoyable day
A big thank you to all the visitors and the whole team who made this day so special. We’re already looking forward to the next event!
We wish everyone a successful season and are already looking forward to next year!
